I had my first in-home Posh party this past weekend and I am using the word party very lightly. I really did it more as a girls night to just relax and wind down after a long week. I bought wine and dessert and we all just sat around and talked. I had a table full of testers open for everyone to look at, test, smell, etc. and a table of products for cash & carry. Oddly enough most everyone ordered out of the catalog, but that’s okay because I have a vendor event in a few weeks and I’ll need all the stock I can get!
My advice would be just to relax. Don’t push products on people because the products will sell themselves. Just let everyone move around on their own testing the products and your sales will come naturally! Do something fun like Posh & wine or margaritas & masks. Don’t necessarily make the party be about you getting sales, but about people coming to relax, hang out, and visit.
Be sure to have catalogs, order forms, price sheets, pens, etc. You don’t want to have to search for prices when someone asks you how much something costs. I had my iPad out and used Square to take credit card payments. If you sign up through this link you can get your first $1000 with ZERO fees! My pink displays come from Stack Displays and they’re super easy to assemble. I used galvanized buckets and a 3 tier system I have for parties for everything else and I love the way it all looks set up. I also made scent jars with mason jars and chunks. While I don’t think home parties are my forté I do feel like they generate more sales than a Facebook party due to the sampling. People are able to see and smell what they’re buying instead of having to just guess what a product is like. Go out of your comfort zone and host at least one in-home party! Make you’ll like it.

Shutterfly is running some pretty awesome deals right now that are just too good NOT to share! I get all my photo books from Shutterfly, and the majority of my prints. They run specials all the time that allow me to get free address labels and only pay shipping. Who doesn’t love a good deal?!
- From now through March 2 get $16 off $16 or more with code SWEET16
- February 29 ONLY get four 3×5, 3×3, 2×3, 2×2, or 4×5.5 magnets, or four sets of address labels FREE using code LEAPDAY
- Free shipping on orders $39 and over using code SHIP39
- 1 free card so you can see if you like them using code CARD4U
Have you tried Shutterfly photo books? I have been ordering their hard cover photo books since around 2005 and those still look great! The colors haven’t faded or bled together and they look like I just bought them. I am WAY behind on ordering them, so I definitely need to step up my game.
I love displaying them, though, and people always pull them out and go through them. My kids especially love to go through their books from when they were babies.
So if you haven’t checked out Shutterfly, now is the time with all the deals they have going on. A lot of their deals can be stacked and you can even get 50 free prints if you’ve never created an account before! If you order something let me know! I’d love to see your creation.

I am pretty sure the last fix I blogged about was fix #17 so I somehow missed two with sick kiddos and traveling to San Diego. I need to get on that and at least blog about the pieces I kept! Fix #20 came Tuesday and was just “eh” this time around. I didn’t really have anything in mind and didn’t request anything specific other than transition pieces. It’s a 1/5, which is completely fine, and I am already looking forward to my next fix.
First is the Papermoon Jepson Woven Hem Knit Top ($54). Really cute knit top in white and turquoise with a solid hem. Really thin material, though and seems to run small because Allisha sized up. It’s paired with my trusty Joe’s Jeans that I have multiple pairs of.
Would you believe I’ve never owned a denim jacket? At least not in my adult life! I have been missing out. Allisha sent me the Kut From The Kloth Callie Denim Jacket ($78) and it is SO soft! I love the shade of blue and I could have definitely used this when we went to San Diego last week. It would have gone great with the last maxi she sent me. This one is my keeper!
These SeaVees Montery Lace-Up Sneakers ($68) are super cute, but the burnt orange color is just not something I can see myself wearing a lot. I just bought a pair of white Converse for my trip to SD and I might have kept these had they been in black, gray, or even navy.
Lastly is the Loveappella Rainie Long Sleeve Asymmetrical Knit Top ($54) and Liverpool Anita Skinny Pant ($78). The top is cute, but again SUPER thin and I just wasn’t loving it. The pants were so tight they did NOT get a close-up photo because no one wants to see that mess. Here is a stock photo, though.
I like the material, but I just don’t feel like I would wear them enough to justify requesting the next size up and buying them.
Overall, I’m still happy with this fix even though it’s a 1/5. Allisha has done a great job since she started styling me and I am always looking forward to my next fix. I cannot WAIT to start receiving all the pretty pastels and floral prints for spring! To get you started on Stitch Fix or to get you a styling fee discount, I’m giving away a $20 Stitch Fix gift card. Enter below!
Stitch Fix is an online personal styling service that will send you 5 pieces in a box. You pay a $20 styling fee up front in order for a stylist to choose pieces for you. Once the box arrives you can try everything on then choose what to keep. There is a 25% discount for keeping all 5 pieces. Before you get started there is a style profile you fill out so your stylist can know your preferences. You can choose to receive no jewelry like I have, or you can leave all the options open and receive clothes, jewelry, and/or an accessory each time. You can set up automatic shipments as frequently as every 2-3 weeks, or you can choose to do manual shipments and tell Stitch Fix when you’d like to receive a box. They also have a referral system where you can receive a $25 credit for every person who signs up through your link and purchases a fix. So really, even if you hate everything in the box, which I highly doubt you will, you’re only out $20. You can ship everything back with a prepaid envelope and choose whether to get another fix next month. If you leave detailed feedback about your items, keep your style profile updated, make a note about any upcoming special occasions or vacations, and link to your Pinterest, you’re bound to have a great fix!

Subscription boxes seem to be the “it” thing right now. I myself am subscribed to several and the list of sub boxes I’ve stopped receiving is even longer. There seems to be a subscription box for everything under the sun, so why would I even bother toying with the idea of creating another one? Because Perfectly Posh is different and I’m passionate about it.
If you’re unfamiliar with the company, Perfectly Posh was started in 2011 so it’s still just a baby and is still growing and changing. Perfectly Posh is naturally based pampering products made in the USA. They’re cruelty free, everything is under $25, there’s always $5 shipping no matter how much you order, and there’s even vegan options. There’s no fancy sales pitch, the products sell themselves. All you need is to try it just once.
In order to reach a wider audience and gain more customers I’m thinking about starting a subscription box. This would be from me as an independent consultant and not available through the website. I want to do different price range and duration options as well. Each package would include at least 1 full size product, 1-2 deluxe samples, and 2-3 mini samples. Possibly a catalog and company info for first time customers. I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please take a moment to fill out this Google doc. I’m looking to start the subscription service in March!

It’s no secret that I love to read. I post my monthly books on my blog, I have a healthy to-read list on Goodreads, and I would prefer books or an Amazon gift card to anything else. If given free time, I would go to a bookstore, grab a white chocolate mocha and wander around. Without kids! Sometimes, though, I will take them with me and let them pick out a book, too. On Valentine’s Day I took them as a treat and I was able to wander around a bit after they’d picked out their purchases. I found a table in the back with classics re-imagined and bought this awesome edition of Snow White.
How amazing does that look? I bought it without even opening it up – The cover alone was enough to get me to purchase. My sister-in-law enjoys things like that, too, so I immediately sent her a text of it and she asked if there were any others back there. There weren’t but I got on Amazon searching and saw that Camille Rose Garcia illustrated several others and I will be buying those as well.
My “office” is a combination office and library. Originally when my grandparents lived here it was just a library, filled with books and cookbooks, and photo albums. I don’t have near the amount of books that my grandmother did, but I have a pretty good collection going on. Since moving in here I completely regret selling all my books at previous garage sales. I wish I still had them all! If you’re a book addict like me, where do you keep your books?
This is one section of my library shelves. I also have a collection going in my bedside table and I got a new Kindle Paperwhite for Christmas. To say I love to read is quite the understatement!

It’s been a while, so when I got up and got dressed today I figured I needed to snap a picture and make a post! It seems as though since I decided to join Perfectly Posh and become a consultant the time I spent on my blog got to be less and less. But with any new business, if you don’t put time into it in the beginning it won’t grow. For Valentine’s Day my husband brought me breakfast in bed and let me sleep late. Heart shaped pink pancakes with eggs, bacon, and coffee. Amazing! I bought my littlest Valentines some candy but I wanted to take them to Books-a-Million as well, so we did that and went to lunch. Their choice? Buffalo Wild Wings 🙂 Hence, the special outfit.
First things first – Please excuse the Dora hair. It’s past time for another Brazilian Blowout and you can definitely tell. I grabbed the Papermoon Jared Contrast Trim Knit Top from fix #17. My all-time favorite jeans are my Joe’s Skinny Ankle which can be worn in boots well or folded and worn with sandals.
My poor Joe’s Jeans are about through, though. I feel like they are going to bust apart at any second while I’m wearing them so I think it’s a good idea to order another pair. Amazon has great prices on Joe’s Jeans in a variety of sizes and I am thankful for Amazon Prime getting them to me quickly!
So that’s a wrap on this edition of Stitch Fix Saturday. Be sure to visit the other posts to see what else I have showcased in the past.
