Summer is the time of year to get everyone together and have a huge BBQ, fish fry, or crawfish boil. We love having people over and try to “host” something at least once a month. It’s mostly casual with just a few friends and family coming over to eat and swim. We play badminton, pool games, disc golf, etc. Everyone has a blast and we all love getting together!
There are so many ideas on Pinterest for summer themed food, activities, decorations, etc. I have been looking for some new activities to try with the kids this summer and of course, Pinterest is my number one go-to destination for ideas! Seriously, whoever thought up the idea for Pinterest is a genius.
I am loving the idea of a tarp or slip-n-slide under the playset! Mississippi is HOT during the summer, so any type of outdoor play during the afternoon hours needs to involve water… And lots of sunscreen!
My kids love playing with water balloons, but they aren’t very easy to fill up, especially for my 3-year-old. This shaving cream filled balloon idea looks like SO much fun! I can even see the adults getting in on the action.
Who doesn’t love a night swim? Throwing in a bunch of dollar store glow sticks can turn a boring night swim into a super fun glow party! We even have two of these solar-powered underwater light show things that would be a fun addition!
This giant Kerplunk game looks awesome and fairly simple to make. Some sticks, a tomato cage and some bouncy house balls and there you go! Fun for adults AND kids.
I am looking forward to our next gathering so that I can implement at least one of these activities! If you have seen or done something unique and fun during the summer, please feel free to share in the comments!
