I anxiously await the arrival of my Bookworm Box every month! This month was no exception. I knew it was coming and hoped it would arrive yesterday, but it didn’t. I was pleasantly surprised when my 8-year-old brought it up for me this morning!
July’s box has The Year We Fell Down by Sarina Bowen and Just to be With You by Bella Andre. Both books are signed, as are all the books that come in the Bookworm Box, and the box has a ton of swag this month – multiple bookmarks, a pen, notepad, magnet, etc. The ONLY downside to my box is that Just to be With You is 12th in a series. The author has a note book letting you know that each book can be read as a stand-alone, BUT there is usually some mention of characters from past books, or missing back story, so I like to read them all in order regardless. I don’t really want to read 11 books before I can get to this one, so I will probably try to trade it. There is an awesome group on Facebook where you can swap Bookworm books with other people to get something you want. I’ve swapped once already and it went smoothly!
If you’re not familiar with The Bookworm Box, please visit their site and learn more. It is a monthly subscription box that sends you two autographed books and other book swag. All proceeds go to a different charity each month! The service was created by author Colleen Hoover who is one of my all-time favorite authors! Although the concept of The Bookworm box is fantastic, I think she could send me a box of crap and I would still be ecstatic!
On a side note, I have been wondering… Do you actually READ the signed books you receive? So far, I don’t. I don’t want to mess them up! They go onto my bookshelf in a special spot where all autographed books are. I just can’t bring myself to open them up except for looking at the signature when I first receive it. So, am I weird in that I don’t read autographed books, or do you not read them as well?
